EVIS is operated by Siftwork Labs Ltd, company number 17412359, 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom ("we", "us").
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you're agreeing on behalf of an institution, you confirm you're authorised to do so.
EVIS searches bibliographic databases, selects papers, and produces referenced syntheses and systematic review outputs, with a record of its selection decisions.
We may change, add, or remove features. If we remove something you rely on, we'll give you 30 days' notice by email.
You need an account, accurate registration details, and you must keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account, including through API keys you create.
One account is for one person. Sharing credentials across a team isn't permitted — use a team plan.
Tell us promptly at hello@siftwork.co.uk if you think your account has been compromised.
Don't:
We may suspend an account for a serious or repeated breach. Where practical we'll warn you first.
Yours stays yours. Research questions, protocols, uploaded documents, and generated outputs belong to you. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service — storing, processing, and displaying your content back to you.
We don't train our own models on it. How our AI providers may use the content we send them is governed by their own standard API terms, which differ by provider — see the Privacy Policy for detail.
Third-party content. Bibliographic metadata comes from PubMed, Crossref, OpenAlex, Europe PMC, Semantic Scholar and similar sources, each with its own terms. Abstracts and full texts remain the copyright of their publishers. EVIS gives you access to them for research; it doesn't grant you redistribution rights.
Ours stays ours. The EVIS software, interface, and documentation are ours.
This section matters. Please read it.
EVIS uses automated systems including large language models. Those systems make mistakes. Specifically:
You must verify EVIS output before relying on it, and particularly before publishing it, submitting it, or using it in any decision affecting patients, policy, or funding.
The service is provided "as is". We don't warrant that output is complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose. Where we publish validation figures, they describe performance on the datasets stated and don't guarantee performance on your question.
EVIS is a research tool, not a source of medical, clinical, legal, or financial advice.
If you use EVIS in work you publish, you're responsible for meeting your publisher's, funder's, and institution's requirements on AI use. Most now require disclosure.
Practically:
We may withdraw service from anyone using EVIS to produce work we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or fabricated.
Prices are shown in the product, with any VAT due stated at checkout.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time in Settings; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
Usage-based allowances (searches, credits, retrievals) reset each billing period and don't roll over. Exceeding an allowance blocks further use until reset — never a silent overage charge.
We may change prices with 30 days' notice. Changes take effect at your next renewal.
Consumers in the UK and EU have a statutory 14-day right to cancel. By starting to use EVIS within that period you agree we may begin the service immediately, and you acknowledge that the right to cancel is lost once the service has been fully performed.
Beyond that: if EVIS doesn't work as described, contact us within 30 days and we'll refund the current period. We don't refund unused time on a subscription you simply stopped using.
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take the service down for maintenance, with notice where practical.
EVIS depends on third-party databases and model providers. Their outages affect us and are outside our control.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted:
You can close your account at any time in Settings.
We can suspend or terminate for a material breach of these terms, non-payment after notice, or if required by law.
On termination you can export your data for 30 days, after which it's deleted per the privacy policy.
We'll email account holders at least 14 days before material changes. Continuing to use EVIS after they take effect means you accept them.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
